- עוּבָּרm. (עָבַר Pi.) embryo. Ḥull.IV, 1 הוציא הע׳ את ידו if the embryo put forth its forefoot. Ib. 58a, a. e. ע׳ ירך אמו הוא the embryo is a thigh (part) of its mother, i. e. comes under the same law. Yeb.37a עוּבָּרָהּ ניכר לשליש ימיה her embryo (pregnancy) is felt when she has arrived at the third portion of her days of pregnancy (three months). Sifré Deut. 29:5. עָבַר Hithpa; a. fr.Ab.
